How Complementary Care May Fit
Complementary care may be discussed as supportive to your overall wellbeing. The goal is to support the body's regulatory and relaxation responses, not to treat or cure a respiratory disease.
What This Care Does Not Do
We never claim to cure COPD, reverse lung damage, or replace medications, oxygen therapy, or pulmonary care. Respiratory conditions require ongoing management by your medical providers.
When Conventional Care Matters
Seek immediate medical attention for severe or sudden shortness of breath, chest pain, bluish lips or fingertips, or any acute breathing emergency. Continue all prescribed respiratory medications and therapies as directed by your physician.
What to Expect at an Appointment
Your first visit includes a discussion of your concerns and history, an assessment, and an honest conversation about whether complementary care is appropriate. We work alongside your existing medical care, not in place of it.
Your Practitioner
Amsu El, OM, Dipl. Ac., holds an Oriental Medicine Degree and is a nationally board-certified acupuncturist. His training includes the International Institute of Chinese Medicine (Santa Fe, NM) and advanced study in electro-acupuncture and meridian-based healing. Care is always individualized and grounded in understanding the whole person.

Can acupuncture help with COPD?
We do not claim acupuncture treats or cures COPD. Acupuncture may be discussed as complementary support for overall wellbeing, used alongside your prescribed medical care.
Should I stop my medications?
Never stop or change prescribed medications without consulting your physician. Complementary care is intended to work alongside your medical treatment, not replace it.
What if I have an acute breathing issue?
Acute breathing problems require immediate medical attention. Please contact emergency services or your physician right away.
